Jorge / Lorenzo

At first, I just couldn't see how to do it.

Jorge and Lorenzo.

Friends.

But - like friends often turn out to be - a real chalk and cheese combination.

Lorenzo was, as you've already found out, a pleasure to work with.

Indeed, a pleasure to be with.

Not only hot, not only cute, but willing and cooperative - in a word, a pro.

What can I say about Jorge, though?

The office boy who confused the telephone with a megaphone…

…who refilled our expensive colour printer with the ink the boss uses in his Mont Blanc fountain pen (the one he uses to impress important visitors)…

…and the boy who managed to destroy our priceless latest batch of model release forms when checking out the new paper shredder.

I guess he was lucky to keep his job. But then I know the boss was very keen to get some pics of Lorenzo in a duo - and it turned out that the only boy he was prepared to do that with for the time being was his friend Jorge.

But a two-way session has gotta be just that - both boys have got to put in the effort.

It was a real puzzle.

How to inspire Jorge into action?

What, above all else, would he get really excited about?

The answer had been staring me in the face all the time he'd been working in the office.

You could set your watch by Jorge….

9.30 am (if he'd arrived on time) - coffee and cookies.

11 am - chocolate.

12 noon - a burger and a shake.

2.30 pm - coffee and cookies.

4 pm - a Coke and a doughnut.

Food!

I never knew how it was that, what with all those calories and the fact that he never actually seemed to move or do very much, Jorge managed to stay so slim.

But, however that was, I worked out that the way to animate this kid best was through his palate.

So, to set him up with Lorenzo, I decided I'd take them (and, naturally, a camera too!) home with me after work and sit them down to a meal.

If I say so myself, simple food though it was, they looked like they were enjoying it.

And, just like I planned, eating together turned out to be a real ice-breaker.

In fact, it took hardly any time at all before Lorenzo had persuaded Jorge to let him sample a particularly delicious looking appetizer…

…hmm, maybe it was just a little salty?

Still, not bad as a starter.

And it tempted young Jorge into having a nibble, too.

I guess that by now the taste buds were really working overtime, because Jorge couldn't wait to sample his main course for the evening…

…a stuffed and rolled joint of best quality young and tender beef.

Spit roasted.

 And basted in especially succulent juices.

A meal fit for a king -

- and a queen.

No wonder the two boys looked so pleased afterwards.

Though I did think they might have left a tip.
