Devon is a boy who gets easily bored.

He's got a good job.

And a nice apartment.

But, unless he's got a friend around for the evening - or the night - he's the most easily bored boy I know.

And when he is bored, boy, will you know it!

Just take a look at that sulky expression of his.

No, he's a boy who's just got to be doing something all the time.

You might think - what about the ordinary sort of things we all do in life?

Like watching TV…

Well, I know we all moan about the quality of TV these days, but Devon carries that to extremes.

He'll watch it for a little while and then wonder why he ever bothered to pick up the remote control.

And then, after a little while, he usually gets an idea.

He'll call a friend.

Now you might think that he's intending to invite the friend around - for a little mutual "entertainment" to help relieve the boredom.

But you'd be completely wrong.

Because waiting even 30 minutes for the friend to arrive would be just so boring.

So Devon just uses the phone call to - how shall I put it? - alleviate the boredom.

It's not so much that he talks dirty as that he thinks dirty.

With inevitable consequences.

It's just amazing how much that boy can do one-handed while still talking on the phone.

But, of course, there comes a time when a boy's has to ring off if he's gonna do what he's just gotta do at that particular point in time.

Which is why Devon's friends always wonder why he keeps their conversations so short.

"It's just Devon", they say.

"We know him well.

"He just gets bored."

But that, as you now know, just isn't the explanation for those abbreviated phone calls at all.
