When I was a Boy Scout….

(Ah, yes! When I was a Boy Scout - I could certainly tell you a story or two about that…)

But to get back to this week's HMBoy, Rodrigo…

When I was a Boy Scout, some of the most useful skills passed on to us by our troop leader (now long departed to the state penitentiary for pretty obvious reasons) were those needed when camping in the great outdoors.

These days I can still put up a tent in two minutes flat…

Tell the difference between a woodpecker and a vulture (duhhh…)

And even make fire by rubbing two sticks together (not the only things we enjoyed rubbing together at camp!)…

And I remember too that he told us was that, in cold weather, most heat lost from the body is via the head.

So always wear a cap.

Maybe Rodrigo was a Boy Scout too once.

'Cos he never takes his cap off.

Everything else - thank goodness!

But never the cap.

Perhaps someone should tell him that, on a tropical island like his, you don't need to worry about heat loss.

But, even so, it's good to see that Rodrigo's keeping his other scouting skills up to scratch.

Even if he's forgotten that you're supposed to rub two sticks together to make a fire.
