Our European representative recently visited Moscow to talk business with one of our local suppliers there.

As it so happened, while they were discussing future models we might be using, one happened to drop by the studio for his photoshoot.

Pavel.

A pretty special boy, we're sure you'll agree.

And, while his shoot was under way, our guy took the opportunity of recording a few words with him to introduce this set of pics.

HMBoys: Hi there, Pavlik!

Pavlik: Hi!

HMBoys: Well, you sure are a handsome boy…

Pavlik: [laughing] I bet you say that to all the boys!

HMBoys: Well, yes, I guess we do - but you really are exceptionally good looking…

Pavlik: Thank you!

HMBoys: So tell us - how exactly did you come to get into modelling?

Pavlik: Well, you know how it is… I come from a big family - I've got five brothers - and in the area of Russia that I live, in there isn't much work these days. So I saved up the money for a one-way train ticket to Moskva [Moscow] to see if things were any better here.

HMBoys: And were they?

Pavlik: Well, I was lucky because I already knew a boy who'd moved to Moskva a few months before. Artem. I stayed with him for a while - and he introduced me to some people who got me into this line of work…

HMBoys: A photographer?

Pavlik: Yes - and he makes movies too!

HMBoys: How did you feel about the work?

Pavlik: Well, at first I didn't know what to think - but, you know how it is, you've got to eat! And, being quite honest with you, it's better to do this than to have to sell your ass on street corners - which is what a lot of the kids who come to Moskva or St Petersburg end up doing…

HMBoys: I guess! So how long have you been doing the modelling?

Pavlik: Maybe a year or so… And now I keep finding pictures of myself all over the internet! Sometimes guys will recognise me in the street. I can tell by the way they'll be staring. But luckily they don't often approach me.

HMBoys: You wouldn't like that?

Pavlik: No - you never know what sort of people they might turn out to be - stalkers or something!

HMBoys: So, do you plan to keep going in this work?

Pavlik: Well, I guess that I might have another year or two left in the business. But what I'd really like to do is to work behind the camera. After all, the money looks like it's quite good! [Pavlik gestures around the studio that we're in.]

HMBoys: Well, maybe we can commission some work from you when you start in that line of work…

Pavlik: Yes - that would be great! And I already know exactly how I'm going to start…

HMBoys: How?

Pavlik: Don't you remember? Back home I've got those five brothers - and they're all looking for work…
