The great thing about the HMBoys concept is the "HM".

"Home Made".

We're still one of the very few sites that encourage their models to produce their own work.

To be fair, we do help them along by sending a few basic guidelines.

What we say about settings is that they should be quite undistracting.

After all, it's the boy that the viewer wants to look at - not the weird design on the wallpaper or - all too frequently - those suspicious looking stains on the rug.

And, regarding props, we tell the would-be HMBoys:

If you have props in your photographs,
it helps make things more believable
if they are natural, everyday objects
and if you look comfortable and interact
with them once in a while.

But we can only assume that Maxim's set of HMBoys guidelines went astray in the post.

How else do you explain this opening shot, where young Maxim displays himself across half a background of a range of Mount Fujis?

And what the hell are the garlands of flowers all about, too?

And what about that shirt?

And the artificial flowers?

And that red ball?

What's that getting at?

Here's a real case in point.

At this point in his sequence of pics, Maxim decides to reveal his dick.

That ought to be the focus of our attention.

And yet suddenly this god-awful oriental fan comes into the shot as a major distraction.

Just what's going on?

We're at a complete loss with this one.

It's not as if Maxim needs to distract us from what he's putting on display.

He's got a dick to die for…

His ass is pretty hot, too…

He sure looks like a boy who knows what he's doing - and who enjoys it…

And he can definitely follow through with the results…

So what was this crazy scenario all about, huh?

Since we wired Maxim his money, we haven't heard a peep from him.

So we can't explain it.

But maybe one of you inventive guys can come up with an explanation for what's got to be one of the weirdest and most eccentric sets of pics on the whole of the HMBoys site…
