Having a bit of variety.

Keeping everyone happy.

Unfortunately, that's not always easy to do.

Look back to our 20 January 2006 HMBoys - Artem and Pavlik.

Even when they stare full-face at you - as in the thumbnail on the index page - it's not easy to tell them apart. So thank goodness that the photographer got one of them to wear something distinctive around his neck.

Even so, in the action pictures it's still not easy to tell who's who.

And look further back - to 13 June 2005 when we featured sun-bleached (or is it bottle-bleached?) Aussie blonds Jarrod and Levi.

Again, not much visual contrast.

So when Jarrod got in touch recently, offering to do another duo shoot for us, we only had a single reservation.

"Make it a boy with dark hair, please!"

Thankfully, he came up with Kirk - another past HMBoy - who fits the bill nicely.

What a great pair they make together, as you can see in this small selection of their pics.

And although it's not quite a case of all-over ebony and ivory (any volunteers for the first HMBoys interracial set?), at least it's a start in the right direction…

After all, as you can see, they are more than happy to "give each other what we need to survive together alive" - though maybe not quite in the sense that Paul McCartney was thinking of when he wrote the lyrics!
